The East Tennessee Coalition to End Homeless has two parts to its mission:

  1. To end homelessness

  2. As long as homelessness persists in our area, to provide services for the homeless designed to meet individual needs to help them move out of homelessness

This is done through:

  • Developing accurate and current information on the homeless population.

  • Identifying needs and resources available to homeless populations.

  • Prioritizing identified problems and proposing programs to meet these needs.

  • Acting as a coordinating influence in the community for homeless populations.

  • Encouraging local providers to facilitate their policies after standards adopted by the coalition.

  • Disseminating information relative to the homeless populations.

  • Increasing community involvement in planning for and supporting Knoxville’s homeless populations.

The coalition is comprised of individuals, government bodies, and organizations who support the mission of the Coalition and pay an annual membership fee.
